For more than 40 years I have assisted individuals and families in navigating physical and/or mental-health challenges. My experience includes work in hospitals and clinics, in non-profit and public agencies, and in private practice, now in Ashland, Oregon. My areas of specialty are:

    • Trauma, including accidents, childhood abuse, and domestic violence

    • Child and adolescent development, including parent/child relationships, learning and developmental disabilities, abuse and neglect, and adoption.

    • Mood disorders

    • Grief and loss

    • Chronic illness and disability

    • Depression and anxiety

    • Stress management, life transitions, and decision-making

    • Expressive arts and play therapies, particularly Sandtray (Author of: Sandtray: Playing to Heal, Recover, and Grow, Jason Aronson, 2013; paperback, 2015)

I help people learn about themselves and develop new skills to aid in their psychological survival. These life skills function as a basic protection from difficulties, providing a foundation for resolving them. Acquiring a core-self connection supports us as we face and manage our problems, affording greater satisfaction within our personal and professional worlds. I am committed to helping people access the innate healing powers inherent in their own lives. Based in attachment and neurobiology theories, my approach to treatment integrates our bodies, intellects, and emotions. I welcome all faiths, cultures, genders, and ages.
